Indore airport’s lounge is the Primus Lounge, located airside in the domestic departures area after security, on the first floor. It is open 24 hours. You can use it with eligible Visa cards under Visa’s domestic lounge programme, with Priority Pass, or with an American Express Platinum card enrolled in Amex’s lounge programme. It is for departing domestic passengers only.
Landing at Indore airport? Book your airport pickup to Ujjain / Omkareshwar and your stay
For pilgrims, the lounge matters on the way home rather than on arrival. You cannot use it after landing, because it sits beyond departure security. It is useful when you have reached the airport early after the drive back from Ujjain, perhaps after a Bhasma Aarti morning. This page covers only what we could confirm from official programme lists and lounge-network listings as of September 2026. It also spells out what we could not confirm, so you can check it before you rely on it.

Indian card lounge benefits change often. Many banks now tie free visits to minimum quarterly spending, and eligibility depends on the exact card variant, not just the network logo. Before you rely on a card at Indore, check your bank’s current terms. Carry the physical card, since some programmes validate with a small transaction at the desk.
Where the lounge is and how to reach it
The Visa programme list describes the route simply: clear security, then go up to the first floor. Because it is airside, you need a boarding pass for a same-day domestic departure. Arriving passengers, and people seeing off or receiving family, cannot enter.
A note on terminals: Indore has run two terminals since April 2026, when the refurbished Terminal 1 reopened alongside Terminal 2. Lounge listings haven’t caught up. One labels the Primus Lounge as T1 and another as the main terminal. Your departure terminal is printed on your boarding pass. If the lounge isn’t in your terminal, ask at the information desk before you clear security. The official airport contact details are on the Airports Authority of India’s Indore page. Our Indore airport guide explains the terminal layout.
International passengers
Indore has a small number of international flights, operated by Air India Express to the Gulf. The Amex listing states that the Primus Lounge is for domestic-flight passengers only. If you are flying internationally from Indore, don’t plan on using this lounge.
Using the lounge on your return from Ujjain
Most Ujjain pilgrims time the drive back to Indore airport generously, about 1โ1.5 hours for the roughly 60 km, plus a buffer for traffic. That often means arriving well before boarding, and the lounge is a quiet place to use that time. A few timing notes by route:
- Goa (12:30 departure): If you attended Bhasma Aarti and left Ujjain by about 09:30, you may have an hour or so after security. See the Goa route.
- Nagpur (09:00 departure): An early-morning flight; the lounge’s 24-hour opening helps if you arrive very early. See the Nagpur route.
- Evening departures to Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Pune: These are the most common. Leaving Ujjain in the late afternoon usually gives lounge time without cutting your last day short.
Keep an eye on the maximum stay. The Amex listing gives three hours, so there is little point arriving at the lounge much earlier than that before departure.
Lounge or terminal seating?
| Situation | Our suggestion |
|---|---|
| You hold an eligible card and have 45+ minutes after security | Use the lounge; quieter than the gate area |
| Travelling with elders who need a comfortable seat and a washroom close by | Worth it, if your card covers guests or you can pay for entry |
| Less than 30 minutes before boarding | Skip it and go to the gate |
| No eligible card | Ask the lounge desk about paid entry; the airport’s own food outlets are the alternative |
The Airports Authority lists food and dining, shopping and other conveniences at Indore among its service categories. We have not listed specific outlets, as AAI does not publish them.
Paying for walk-in access
Online lounge-booking sites sell time-limited passes for the Primus Lounge at Indore. Those are reseller prices, not an official rate, so we haven’t quoted a figure. If you want to pay at the door, ask at the lounge reception on the day. Check whether the price is per person, how long it covers, and whether children are charged. If you plan to buy a pass online, read the cancellation terms. Flights to and from Indore are retimed at the late-October schedule change, and a retimed flight can leave you with an unused pass.
What we could not confirm
- An official walk-in price.
- Whether IndusInd, Mastercard or RuPay programmes currently cover this lounge.
- Whether the lounge is officially in T1 or T2 following the 2026 terminal reorganisation.
- Amenities inside the lounge, as none are officially published.
We will update this page when these are confirmed. For the rest of your journey, see Indore airport to Ujjain taxi, Indore airport to Ujjain distance and all flights into Indore.
